We are Mike and Kellye, a couple of Texans who love adventure, national parks, and the call of the road. While we are new to telling the world about our adventures, we are not new to road tripping. We took our first road trip together when we were eighteen, and we’ve been flyin’ down the highway together ever since! Let’s just say that it has been a few years…ahem, decades.
As we embark on this newest phase of our journey, we will be sharing information about the places we’ve been, as well as where we’re going, itineraries included. We’ll throw in some tips and tricks that we’ve picked up along the way, too, with our tried and true recommendations for where to stay, where to eat, and what to do. Since we’re not experts, our opinions are our own, and we will try our best to provide the most accurate information we can. We’re not getting paid for our recommendations. (But we can dream, right?) Speaking of money, we will share some of our best cost-saving tips, too.
Our ultimate goal is to visit all of the national parks, however, we’re always up for seeing a national monument, landmark, state park, or anything else that happens to pique our interest, especially if it’s within a few (hundred) miles of our destination. We also have to admit that we’ve been known to revamp our entire itinerary at the last minute just to check out some funky tourist trap along the road. Carhenge (below) made for a great photo op, by the way.
So, pack your bags, grab a few snacks, and buckle up for adventure. It’s going to be a trip, and we are thrilled to have you along for the ride!
